STVW GmbH was founded by Helmut and his wife Jutta Steinlein in a district of Stammbach with the world-renowned name Gundlitz. The history of the municipality of Stammbach was and continues to be shaped by the textile industry, particularly by plush weaving.
Initially, the Stammbach velour weaving mill mainly produced plush and velvet fabrics for the furniture industry, but it soon became clear that, despite all creativity and experience, the manufacture of these fabrics was highly dependent on fashion trends.
From 1980 onwards, the weaving mill was therefore built up and expanded in order to produce fabrics that can be used in a wide range of applications. In addition to fabrics for the toy industry, the development and production of technical textiles has been continuously expanded.
In 2000, Helmut Steinlein handed over STVW GmbH to his son Roland, who developed the company into one of Germany’s leading velour suppliers, renowned for its innovative and high-quality specialty fabrics.
In 2019, the Stammbach velour weaving mill was taken over by Thomas Popp and has since been continued under the name POPP Velourstex GmbH, with the same passion and in the spirit of the Steinlein family.
For decades, we have been developing velours that do not follow trends but solve problems. Experience meets innovation: from upholstery plush, an inexhaustible portfolio for technology, hygiene, and design has emerged.
What has remained constant are our commitment to quality and our meticulous attention to detail. Tradition, modern production processes, and cutting-edge materials – for quality that endures.
